MSR, in collaboration with the Association of Anesthesiologists in Israel, the Israeli Medical Association and the National Institute for Testing and Evaluation, conducts the Board Licensing Exam for residents specializing in Anesthesiology.
Upon completion of their residencies, physicians are tested on their competencies and ability to perform specific skills along with their knowledge. The exam includes testing stations based on simulations and oral examinations, designed to demonstrate the physician’s ability to lead a course of treatment for a patient and the necessary skills of the specialization. The number and variety of stations make it possible to evaluate the resident in a variety of situations and challenges.
Clinical challenges that a resident would be required to address include: resuscitation, managing trauma cases, administering local anesthesia, and managing emergencies in the operating room.
