Student And Engineering Research

MSR offers a perfect playground for the student researchers and community based institutions (i.e. Moona) who have interests in engineering, ergonomics, and software (multimedia and gaming) development.

Track I: Simulator Development

Under the mentorship of their institutions, students will be expected to play a critical role during the creation and evaluation of a novel simulator. Depending on the complexity and progress of the project, student may be expected to contribute to the project in a variety of ways, including development of needs assessment, physical creation and refinement of a novel prototype of a simulator, development of associated assessments, and/or evaluation of the product using best research practices. It is expected that the student will also contribute to publication associated with the project.

Track II: Development of New Simulation-based Curricula

Under the mentorship of their institution, students will be expected to play a critical role during the development and implementation of new simulation-based curricula. Depending on the complexity and progress of the project, student may be expected to contribute to the project in a variety of ways, including development of theoretical construct, development of assessments, and/or evaluation of the intervention using best research practices. It is expected that the student will also contribute to publication associated with the project.
