MSR on Wheels is a mobile unit providing accessible simulation-based training to medical teams primarily in the north of Israel.
MSR on Wheels was established in 2013 to provide simulation-based medical training to medical teams on site, and to make MSR’s services and experience training clinical and communication skills and patient safety accessible to as broad a population as possible.
MSR on Wheels was established with the generous support of the Russell Berrie Foundation and the Helmsley Charitable Trust.
MSR on Wheels offers
The MSR on Wheels Model
Once an organization’s training needs are defined, and a training program is established that meets its requirements, MSR on Wheels will bring advanced simulators, actors, a team of experienced trainers and advanced audiovisual equipment to conduct the simulation training and debriefing. Course leaders and evaluators from MSR staff can also be sent to the client site.
Training is held on site and the sessions are documented and evaluated using videotapes filmed during the sessions. After the training, the videotapes are left with the client for further study and practice.
Some of MSR on Wheels’ programs are the subject of research that supports their funding, as well as publications that disseminate of the scientific and theoretical knowledge in the specific fields of research.
Target Audience
MSR on Wheels serves a broad and diverse client base, focused in two main areas. The first is the medical personnel trainees: the medics, paramedics, nurses, and physicians. The second is the organizations that initiate the training. Over the years MSR on Wheels has trained at almost all of the hospitals in Israel, HMO clinics in northern and southern Israel, various military medical installations, and even trauma workshops for community medical teams in areas around the country affected by conflict.
Course Offerings
MSR on Wheels offers a broad and diverse range of courses and workshops, which are designed first and foremost to meet the client’s needs. Workshops are offered on communications and clinical skills, team management, and managing patient care and medical events. All workshops use actors, advanced simulators and video-based evaluations.
New training programs and workshops can be developed based on specific needs, and existing programs can be adapted to meet an organization’s specific requirements.
MSR on Wheels is also involved in helping medical organizations develop their own simulation capabilities, under MSR’s guidance. MSR maintains close partnerships with various medical organizations, using different models to build up a pool of trainers and/or training programs in those organizations, in order to realize MSR’s vision of providing advanced, patient-oriented, humane, ethical and safer healthcare for all patients in Israel.
