Target Audience
Physicians, paramedics and other medical staff, whose responsibilities require ACLS certification.
Course Objectives
To learn, practice and refresh the American Heart Association-authorized procedures for treating adults in cardiovascular emergencies; to improve clinical and teamwork skills and treatment quality, using simulated scenarios. Full course: 12 hours; Refresher course: 7 hours.
Course Description
The course covers advanced cardiovascular resuscitation; advanced identification and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias using medical protocols; heart attack and stroke; pulmonary edema; low blood pressure and shock. The course uses advanced simulators and task trainers in realistic simulations of medical environments. Special emphasis is placed on medical decision-making, risk management, teamwork, communication skills and self-evaluation.
Participants who successfully complete the course receive an ACLS Provider certificate from the American Heart Association, which has certified MSR as an international training center.
