Overview
New developments and innovations in laparoscopic and robotic surgery present challenges for novice and experienced surgeons alike. The technical precision these surgical techniques demand, and the steep learning curve to master them, require intensive practice in order to prevent mistakes in the operating room. MSR’s Surgery Simulation Unit, provides advanced training facilities for both young and experienced surgeons specializing in all areas of surgery.
Course Description
The unit employs a range of task trainers and state-of-the-art simulations, including virtual reality technologies. MSR offers short, intensive courses focused on specific skills, and more comprehensive courses that take place over several days. The flagship course, a preparatory course for residents specializing in surgery based on the American Surgical Bootcamp model, has been offered by MSR since 2014. The 5-day course covers all the fundamentals of manual surgical skills and laparoscopy.
