MSR Mission

For a Safe, Humane, Ethical and Patient-Centered Medical Culture

Prof. Amitai Ziv Presentation,  SimHealth 2012,  Australia

Medical education has always been tasked with training professionals in three main areas: cognitive capability (knowledge), clinical skills and communication skills. Training in these areas, whether clinical or communications-related, presents a particularly complex challenge, due to the need to teach in real-life clinical situations, and with direct contact with real patients.

In recent years, we are witnessing the growing trend of medical simulations used for training and evaluation in the medical professions. This trend is growing, firstly in response to the growing demand to reduce human error in medical practice, and to advance a culture of patient safety. Additionally, it reflects the growing recognition that medical simulation can improve the functioning of medical teams in routine and emergency situations, and increase awareness of the importance of safe and quality patient treatment.

MSR’s vision is to change the medical culture to become more patient-centered, humanistic, ethical, and safe. It accomplishes this through simulation-based training that instills in medical professionals the skills to carry out challenging clinical tasks in a safe, efficient and humane manner.
