Overview
Cataracts are one of the most commonly occurring conditions, affecting some 50% of people over 65 worldwide. Until now, interns and ophthalmologists have practiced performing cataract surgery on patients, with no margin for error, as part of their training.
Course Description and Objectives
The Association of Ophthalmologists, MSR-Israel Center for Medical Simulation, and Lapidot Medical, Ltd., have jointly developed a simulation-based training program to improve cataract surgery skills. Course participants practice surgical techniques on specialized task trainers simulating eyes fitted with various cataract types.
